This Privacy Policy explains how Feast – Food Delivery App ("Feast", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and website ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information that is necessary to provide a safe and reliable food-ordering experience.
a) Information you provide directly
- Account details: name, email address, mobile number, password, and profile photo (optional).
- Delivery details: delivery addresses, landmarks, contact number for delivery, and special instructions.
- Order details: items ordered, restaurant chosen, order time, order value, ratings and reviews you submit.
- Communications: messages you send to customer support, complaints, and feedback.
b) Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system, app version, language, and unique device identifiers.
- Approximate & precise location: used only with your permission, to show nearby restaurants and to deliver your order to the correct address. You can revoke location permission at any time from your device settings.
- Usage data: screens you visit in the app, taps, search terms, and crash logs, used to fix bugs and improve the app.
- Push notification token: a Firebase device token used to send you order status updates and offers.
c) Payment information
When you pay online, your card / UPI / wallet details are entered directly on the secure page of our payment gateway partner (e.g. Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal, Paystack, SSLCOMMERZ, Mercado Pago, Paymob, Flutterwave, bKash – depending on your region). We do not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking password on our servers. We only receive a transaction reference, status, and the last 4 digits of the card (where applicable) for accounting and refund purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your Feast account.
- Process your orders and deliver them to the address you provide.
- Send order confirmations, status updates, delivery alerts, and receipts.
- Provide customer support and respond to your queries or complaints.
- Process refunds, reversals, and chargebacks.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Improve app performance, fix crashes, and develop new features.
- Send promotional offers and updates (only if you have opted in – you can opt out anytime).
- Comply with applicable Indian laws, tax rules, and lawful requests from authorities.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted parties who need it to fulfil your order or to keep the Service running:
- Restaurants & vendors – your name, delivery address, contact number, and order details, so they can prepare and dispatch your order.
- Delivery partners – your name, delivery address, contact number, and order details, so they can complete the delivery.
- Payment gateways – limited transaction information necessary to process payments and refunds.
- Cloud hosting & service providers – such as our web hosting provider, Firebase Cloud Messaging (for push notifications), and analytics/crash tools, who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality.
- Legal and regulatory authorities – when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
4. Permissions Used by the Mobile App
- Location – to detect your area, show nearby restaurants, and route your delivery.
- Camera / Photos / Media – to let you upload a profile picture or attach an image to a complaint (optional).
- Notifications – to send you order status updates and offers.
- Internet & network state – required for the app to communicate with our servers.
You may revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device settings; some features may not work without them.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as it is needed:
- Account data: kept while your account is active. Deleted on request (see Section 7).
- Order & invoice records: retained for up to 8 years to comply with Indian tax, GST, and accounting laws.
- Support & complaint records: retained up to 2 years after the issue is resolved.
- Anonymised analytics: may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.
6. Data Security
- All data exchanged between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS / TLS.
- Passwords are stored in hashed form and are never visible to our staff.
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only and protected by access controls.
- Payment data is handled by PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways.
While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.
7. Your Rights & Account / Data Deletion
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct any inaccurate or outdated information.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
- Object to certain types of processing.
How to delete your account:
- In-app: open Feast → Profile → Delete Account and confirm.
- Web: visit https://restaurant.biriyanifeast.com/data-deletion and follow the steps.
- Email: write to feast.restro2025@gmail.com from your registered email with the subject "Account and Data Deletion Request".
We will complete verified deletion requests within 7 business days, except for records we are legally required to retain (such as tax invoices).
8. Children's Privacy
Feast is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or payment pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing any information.
10. International Data Transfers
Our servers are operated from India. If you access Feast from outside India, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India under Indian data-protection laws.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
